Analysis and Evaluation of a Fixed WiMAX System for Videoconferencing

چکیده

This paper describes the structure and performance of a Fixed WiMAX System, as part of a network of networks that provides a wireless broadband access to the University of Applied Sciences of Mikkeli, Finland. The aim of the study is to evaluate the performance of the whole system when it is working with videoconference traffic. There are two major blocks that describe the performance attending different levels of standardization. As a first approach, there is a testing work on the Network Layer that permits us to have preliminary conclusions and helps to predict the performance we may find at the Application level. In second term, a study on video conferencing is developed, as well as a second testing work focused on Videoconferencing Applications.
